WIA Youth Services

Carey Services has a program to assist at-risk youth ages 14-21 with employment, academic assistance, and occupational skills training. You are given opportunities to learn skills, obtain work experience opportunities, improve their healthy living habits, and learn how to set life goals.

 

The Youth Specialists will assist the participant in identifying employment, academic, or occupational related goals. The specialists can also assist with career assessments, and preparation for post-secondary educational opportunities. The Youth Specialists can also assist with drop-out prevention strategies by becoming a team player in the educational life of the participant. Various workshops and program elements are also available to increase the youth’s individual potential.

§         Job Readiness Skills Workshop

§         How to make your resume stand out

§         Assistance with Job Placement

§         How to get ready and apply for college workshop

§         Tutoring by Sylvan Learning is also available for youth who need individualized academic supports.

§         Supportive services for work or educationally related issues

§         Summer Youth Program

§         mentoring

§         Leadership Development including community service activities

§         Credential obtainment
