Respite

Carey Services Respite care is short term care that helps a family or primary caregiver take a break from the daily routine and stress. Respite care is an essential part of the overall support that caregiver may need to keep their loved one with a disability at home. Carey Services, recognizing that most children and adults with disabilities reside with their parents or other caregivers, offers an array of Family Supports. These supports are available to anyone with a family member with a disability that resides in the families' home. Respite Services offers temporary relief care to the parent or caregiver in the families' home or at the respite providers' home. Some activities may include: going on a date, shopping, running errands, or attending doctors appointments.

Subsidies for adaptive equipment, including the installation of wheelchair ramps is also available. Behavioral Consultation to assist the family members in addressing acting out and other disruptive behavior can be attained. Our Family Support Coordinator also offers case management services, including referral.
