Early Head Start

Early Head Start is a federally funded program for families with children under three years old and pregnant women who meet Head Start income guidelines Enrollment is available for children with disabilities. Early Head Start works with First Steps to ensure that children with disabilities receive quality and comprehensive services. All Early Head Start services are free of charge to qualifying families.

Services Provided

Family Services
The Family Services Coordinator will help you locate resources available in the community.

Physical Health
The Early Head Start nurse will assist families in keeping their child up to date on all well child visits, immunizations, and screenings.

Mental Health
The licensed Mental Health Consultant is available to meet with you to address any mental health concerns or questions.

Nutrition Services
The nutrition consultant is a Registered Dietician and can provide suggestions on improving your family's nutrition.

Developmental and Disabilities Services
The Child Development and Disabilities Coordinator will assist families in monitoring your child's development.
