DEVELOPMENTAL THERAPYpurpleshoe.jpg

Developmental Therapy focuses on infant/toddler development and ways to promote development. This includes designing learning environments and activities to promote development across all domains: cognitive (learning); physical (moving body and manipulating objects); communication (using language and understanding language); social/emotional (developing relationships and learning socially acceptable behavior); and adaptive (self-help).

Your child may benefit from therapy if, when compared to other children the same age, your child has difficulty with:
  • Feeding / eating
  • Using large muscles to roll over, crawl, walk, run, and jump
  • Using small muscles to hold toys, crayons, and utensils
  • Playing with toys
  • Playing with other people
  • Developing relationships with others, especially family
  • Using words and gestures to communicate
  • Understanding directions
