INARF INC., is the principal membership organization in Indiana representing providers of services to people with disabilities. Our members serve over 60,000 Indiana citizens annually and employ over 14,500 full-time employees. For 34 years, INARF has maintained relationships with governmental agencies responsible for human service programs, promoted networking opportunities for members coordinated quality professional development programs and provided leadership and support in the promotion of quality programs for persons with disabilities.
The Arc of Indiana, was established in 1956 by parents of children with intellectual and other developmental disabilities who joined together to build a better and more accepting world for their children. Now in it's 53rd year of service, the work of The Arc continues to:
- Empower families with information and resources to assist them in their journey of raising a child with a disability to lead a full and meaningful life.
- Empower people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities to be self sufficient and independent to the greatest extent possible.
- Inspire positive change in public policy and public attitudes.
The Arc of the United States, is the world's largest community based organization of and for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It provides an array of services and support for families and individuals and includes over 140,000 members affiliated through more than 780 state and local chapters across the nation. The Arc is devoted to promoting and improving supports and services for all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The American Network of Community Options and Resources promotes and assists private providers who offer services and supports to people with disabilities and their families.
The mission of the Autism Society of America is to promote lifelong access and opportunities for persons within the autism spectrum and their families, to be fully included, participating members of their communities through advocacy, awareness, education, and research related to autism.
AAIDD promotes progressive policies, sound research, effective practices, and universal human rights for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Autism Speaks: Autism Speaks is a not-for-profit organization working to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders. They are dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. Autism Speaks aims to bring the autism community together as one strong voice to urge the government and private sector to listen to our concerns and take action to address this urgent global health crisis. It is our firm belief that, working together, we will find the missing pieces of the puzzle.
