Carey Services’ “Denim & Diamonds” – March 4, 2023
Carey Services is hosting “Denim & Diamonds – A Celebration of Community” on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at The Tomahawk at Meshingomesia beginning at 6:00pm with a social hour followed by dinner and celebration program starting at 7:00pm. The evening will celebrate the community that does so much to help families and individuals with disabilities to live their best lives. This “Denim & Diamonds” themed event reflects the idea that things that seem different from one another actually go together to make something beautiful and worthwhile. Please wear your best denim and diamond “bling” and come ready to celebrate! Reservations are $35 per person and can be made online at www.careyservices.com/events or by contacting April Scott at 765-668-8961 ext. 111.

Carey Services Announces 2023 Board of Directors and Elected Officers
The Carey Services board of directors recently celebrated long-serving board members, approved the 2023 board of directors and board officers, and added two new Board members to service.
John Jones was elected to serve a 2nd term as chairperson for 2023. Kevin Planck, who had previously served as chairperson, was elected immediate past chairperson. Other officers elected include: Phil Bowers, vice chairperson (2nd term); Cassie Dixon (2nd term), treasurer, and Sarah Summersett, elected as secretary. The board officers also make up the board’s executive committee.
At the December 2022 Board meeting, Carey Services said “goodbye” to a few long-term and committed board members. Carey Services thanks, Steve Smithley, Rodney Faulk, Cathy Weatherspoon, and Tashema Davis for their awesome service and dedication.
During its January 2023 Executive Committee meeting, the Board approved of the following two new members of the Carey Services Board who began service in January: Kolby Rosemeyer, and Dr. Jayda Monteiro.
“I appreciate the willingness of the many community leaders and people passionate about our mission to give of their most valuable asset, their time, to serve the individuals we serve and the people we employ by participating on our board to help us plan and execute our bold vision for transformation,” said Jim Allbaugh, Carey Services’ president and chief executive officer. “I know each board member is committed to seeing Carey Services have even greater impact in coming days and years, and collectively, they share our vision of a world where all people are empowered and equally valued in the community.”

In addition to the agency’s governing board of directors, Carey Services seeks community involvement through other agency committees. The agency’s Early Head Start program seeks community input through its policy council that guides program activities; the council includes program staff, families being served, community representatives, and early childhood education professionals.
