    Carey Services Featured on National Fox & Friends Show

    Carey Services was featured Monday morning on the Hometown Heroes segment of the Fox & Friends morning television show.

    The segment featured the Mr. Canary Co., for which Carey Services has produced birdfeeders for about 20 years. The products are sold in many large retailers throughout the United States. The Hometown Heroes segment highlights a small company that is doing good through an innovative product or way of doing business. Two sisters founded Mr. Canary 20 years ago to market a tube bird feeder designed by their father. The sisters approached Carey Services to produce the product soon after receiving their first large order from a major retailer.

    NAP Tax Credits Available

    Carey Services has been awarded Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credits to sell to donors.

    Individuals and businesses who donate to Carey Services through NAP are able to take a tax credit on their Indiana state income tax return for 50 percent of the amount of the donation and reduce their tax liability to the State of Indiana.

    Carey Services will use the donations received through NAP to help maintain the Pleasant Woods apartment complex that is a part of our Marion campus. These donations also will be used to provide handicap-accessible landscaping at Pleasant Woods as well as the Carey Street campus.

    March is Disability Awareness Month

    March is Disability Awareness Month across the nation.

    In Indiana, more than 19 percent of the state’s population are children and adults with disabilities. The goal of the month-long observance is to increase awareness of those who have disabilities while also promoting inclusion and independence for all people.

    This year’s theme is “Love Where You Live,” which is a reminder that everybody has a responsibility to help our communities become vibrant, inclusive places.
