As part of our vocational work, Carey Services’ production facility and day services staff members provide pre-vocational training for the individuals we serve who want community employment.

As part of their initial admissions evaluation, individuals’ employment skills are assessed. Those assessment results are factored into an individual’s person-centered planning process.

The production facility staff provides person-centered training opportunities to help individuals build the transferrable skills employers desire in a community job setting. Day services staff members also work with those individuals throughout each week to help them build skills such as routine hygiene practices and interpersonal skills that will help them succeed in a community job.

When an individual has developed a base of those skills, Carey Services’ employment services staff members will begin working with the individual to help them through the job search process toward finding community employment.
